Administration Services in Essbase. In this blog i m going to briefly discuss about Hyperion Essbase Administration Services. It is this core part of Essbase for managing data in the database. Loading Data - Adding Members to Dimension

Adding Members to Dimension After creating the rule file for creating the members in the Essbase. Now we load data in the Essbase. So hold on tight... Data incoming.... Loading Data - Adding Members to Dimension - ·          Save and Close all the Outline Editor. ·          Right Click on your Database. Go to Load data ·          Now Select the Mode, Data source, Rules File and Click OK Note: If data is loaded successfully, It show Success else it will show Warning. Error file can be find in Path Mentioned in the Error File at the time of loading the data. ·          Once the members are loaded. You can notice the outline is changed. Members are added in the dimensions.    

Creating Rule File in Essbase

Creating Rule File In this post will create rule files for our database to create members in our dimensions.We can create by right clicking the dimension and adding child. So hold on tight... Creating Rule file - 1.        Right click on the Database. Go to Create - > Rules File      2. Go to File -> Open Data File -> Select File Location (File System/Essbase Server), select     the data file. 3. Once Selected the Data file , Click OK. Data File will displayed in the screen. 4.   To separate the data in the above field column. Select the Data source properties tab, which forth last in the property ribbon. Dimension in Database

Creating Dimensions in Database In the post will see how to create dimensions in your database.Here Essbase is already installed in the server. we just connecting to it. So hold on tight...  Creating Dimension in database - ·          Go to your Application -> Database -> Outline, ·          Right Click on Outline : <Database name> (Active Alias Table: Default) and select Add Child. Like this add as many dimension you want. Note that Only Dimension has to be created as of now. Members will be created in Rule File or right click dimension and click Add child . Save it!

Essbase - Connection In the post will see how to connect Hyperion Essbase from your system. Here Essbase is already installed in the server. we just connecting to it and creating a application in it.
